The NSA should thank the FBI for making them look good

The fellas at the NSA should send the fellas at the FBI a thank you card for taking the heat off of their (NSA) asses.

Ever since Director James Comey’s (I’ma Tell) little slip up a week before Election Day, folks have been giving the FBI the side eye.

The talks about the NSA’s warrant less wiretapping, taking folks to secret courts, listening in on grandmama’s phone calls, and reading Unc’s emails were replaced with talks about how I’ma Tell became one of the gossipy folks.

The New York Times’ Editorial Board wrote that I’ma Tell’s actions had “undermine the American people’s trust in the nation’s top law enforcement agencies.”

A Department of Justice official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told The Washington Post that “It was DEFCON 1” and that folks within the DOJ “were incredibly concerned” about the impact James Comey’s decision to re-open an investigation into Hillary Clinton’s (The Hills) use of her private email server would have “on the election.”

Brent Budowsky, a former aide to Senator Lloyd Bentsen (D-TX) and Rep. Bill Alexander (D-AR), wrote a column in The Hill in which he asked the Inspector General (IG) to investigate James Comey.

Budowsky argued that an IG’s investigation is warranted because Comey’s actions resulted from his personal views, which has left a “shameful blot on his [James Comey] legacy at the bureau.”

Last week, it was reported that the warrants used to search Anthony Weiner’s (ATP) laptop were not worth the paper it was written on.

Or, as The Huffington Post’s writers Matt Ferner, Ryan Grim, and Nick Baumann wrote, “The Warrant That Rocked The Election Is Legal Garbage, Experts Say.”

For his part, former President Bill Clinton (Backroom Bill) didn’t mince words when he let it be known who he thought made Donald J. Trump (Street Corner Donald) the 45th president of the United States.

According to the New York Post, the editor of the Local Bedford-Pound Ridge Record Review quoted the former president as saying about the current FBI director, “James Comey cost her the election.”

There are those who say that if Attorney General Loretta Lynch had told James Comey not to release the letter, then she would’ve been able to stop him from costing Hillary Clinton the election.

However, Harvard Law School Professor Jack Goldsmith told The Washington Post that James Comey had made up his mind and that the attorney general would not have been able to persuade him otherwise.

According to Goldsmith, Comey believed the attorney general and the former president’s meeting on a tarmac in Phoenix, Arizona was evidence of something not being right.

Goldsmith told The Washington Post, “He [James Comey] would have followed protocol. Had the issue with Loretta Lynch on the tarmac not happened, things would be different. People forget that.”

Translation- “People forget that” the politics permeating from Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton’s meeting “on the tarmac” is what made James Comey go rogue.

Unfortunately for Comey, Goldsmith’s statement supports the claim that Comey tarnished the public’s view of the FBI after he decided to let his personal feelings about how the entire situation was being handled get in the way of his duties as the FBI director.

And that, my friends, is the main reason why the NSA should send a New Year’s card to the FBI with the big bold words, “THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE HEAT OFF OF OUR ASSES! GOD BLESS YOU AND HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!”
